About Geneformation

When science becomes personal: how a rare genetic diagnosis led to a tool built for families like yours.

How it started

Geneformation was founded by Lior Dor, PhD, a biologist whose own child was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition. In the search for answers, Lior found that while scientific studies and data existed, translating that technical information into something a family could actually use felt overwhelming.

Along the way, other parents reached out for help understanding their children's diagnoses. Lior began volunteering to research specific genes and conditions, compiling findings into structured reports. It quickly became clear that no organized service existed to provide this level of detail and clarity to families.

That realization led to Geneformation: first as a personal consultancy, where each report was manually researched and compiled, and now as an automated system that can deliver comprehensive research to any family, at a fraction of the time and cost.

What we do

Geneformation compiles current published research on your specific gene and variant into a structured, cited report. We map the treatment landscape, identify relevant clinical trials and registries, list researchers and clinicians with recent publications, and present everything with links to original sources.

Every report includes a plain-language family summary so that the information is accessible to everyone, not just specialists. Reports are available through a personal online viewer and as a downloadable PDF.

Our principles

Transparency

Every claim is cited with a link to its original source. If evidence is limited for a gene or variant, the report reflects that honestly.

Accessibility

Scientific research should not require a PhD to understand. Every report includes plain-language summaries designed for families and caregivers.

Empowerment

We don't give medical advice. We give families the knowledge they need to ask informed questions and collaborate effectively with their healthcare team.

Educational Research Support Only

Geneformation is a research compilation tool, not a medical provider. Our reports are designed to help families and clinicians access organized, cited research. They are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always discuss medical decisions with your clinician or genetic counselor.
